Recruitment Tips
Sorority Formal Recruitment is just around the corner. I know when I was a Potential New Member (PNM) I was extremely nervous. I have been on both sides of recruitment so I have compiled a list of tips to help make recruitment easier.
- SMILE! If you look like you are having a good time, you are more likely to get invited back to that chapter.
- Avoid awkward silences. Come up with a few topics that you can go to that showcase why you would make an awesome member and use them to avoid awkward silences.
- Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable. You are going to be doing a lot of walking during recruitment so make sure you wear comfortable shoes or bring some to change into. It is important to remember that you are trying to impress other women so DO NOT wear revealing clothing. Don’t stress about what you wear too much, the other girls are going to be more focused on what you say rather than what you are wearing.
- Do some research. Before meeting with the chapters, it is a good idea to do some research on the different chapters at your campus. Look up what their philanthropy is or check out their twitter or Facebook pages.
- Trust the process. This point is probably the most important. While going through recruitment you may get dropped from your top chapter or get invited back to a chapter you didn’t really like. Keep an open mind when visiting chapters you don’t really like. Very few women get their top pick so don’t let it get you down. Trust the process and you will end up in the perfect chapter for you.
I hope this list helps make recruitment go a little more smoothly for you all. Remember to have fun!
